                        IBPS Clerk 2024 Notification Overview

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) released the notification for the IBPS Clerk 2024 recruitment to fill 6,128 clerical positions across 11 participating public sector banks in India. This notification is part of the Common Recruitment Process (CRP Clerks-XIV).

Important Dates

  • Notification Release Date: June 30, 2024
  • Online Application Start Date: July 1, 2024
  • Application Deadline: July 21, 2024 (Extended to July 28, 2024)
  • Prelims Exam Dates: August 24, 25, and 31, 2024
  • Mains Exam Date: October 13, 2024
  • Provisional Allotment: April 2025

Total Vacancies

  • Total Posts: 6,128 clerical positions distributed across various states and union territories.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Age Limit: The age should be between 20 and 28 years as of July 1, 2024. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
    • PwBD: 10 years
  • Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in the official language of the state/UT they are applying for.

Selection Process

The selection process for IBPS Clerk 2024 consists of two stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination:
    • English Language: 30 questions (30 marks)
    • Numerical Ability: 35 questions (35 marks)
    • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions (35 marks)
    • Duration: 60 minutes
    • The Preliminary exam is of a qualifying nature; scores are used to shortlist candidates for the Mains exam.
  2. Main Examination:
    • General/Financial Awareness: 50 questions (50 marks)
    • General English: 40 questions (40 marks)
    • Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude: 50 questions (60 marks)
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions (50 marks)
    • Duration: 160 minutes
    • The scores obtained in the Mains exam are considered for the final selection.
  3. No Interview: The final selection is based solely on the Mains exam performance.

Application Process

  • Candidates must apply online through the IBPS official website ibps.in.
  • Application Fee:
    • General/EWS/OBC: ₹850
    • SC/ST/PwBD: ₹175
  • Required documents include a scanned passport-sized photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.

Key Points

  • Prelims and Mains Exam: Candidates must qualify in each section by scoring the minimum cut-off marks determined by IBPS.
  • State-wise Vacancies: The vacancies are distributed across different states, and candidates can select their preferred state during the application process.
  • Final Allotment: Based on the Mains exam performance and preferences provided by the candidates, the final allotment will be made to one of the participating banks.
