Recruitment process of IBPS Bank PO Exam

1. Preliminary Common Written Exam (CWE) – 100 Questions – 100 marks – 1 hr.

2. Mains Exam – 200 Questions – 200 marks – 2 hr.

3. Personal Interview

Final Merit List: A Combined merit list is prepared based upon the mains written exam score and the score in interview and then normalized to 100.
Any eligible candidate, who aspires to join any of the Participating Organizations listed above as a Probationary Officer/Management Trainee or in a similar post in that cadre, is required to register for the Common Recruitment Process (CWE Bank PO/MT).

CWE Bank PO – ONLINE EXAMINATION PATTERN

I. Preliminary Exam Pattern: The online prelims exam pattern is as follows:(1 hr.)

1. Reasoning Ability — 35 Ques — 35 marks
2. Quantitative Aptitude — 35 Ques — 35 marks
3. English Language — 30 Ques — 30 marks
Total — 100 Ques — 100 marks

NOTE: 1. The cut-offs are around 45-50 marks in prelims round.
2. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks in prelims.
3. There will be a gap of 15-20 days between prelims and mains exam.
4. Those clearing the sectional cutoffs and overall cutoffs will reach mains round.

II. Mains Exam Pattern: The online mains exam pattern is as follows:(2 hr.)

1. Reasoning Ability — 50 Ques — 40 mins
2. Quantitative Aptitude — 50 Ques — 40 mins
3. English Language — 40 Ques — 30 mins
4. General Awareness — 40 Ques — 20 mins
5. Computer Awareness — 20 Ques — 10 mins

NOTE: 1. The complete test except the section of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. in English and Hindi.
2. The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using equi-percentile method.
3. Cutoff Score: Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Overall cutoffs is usually – 135+ marks.
4. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cut offs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Personal Interview will be held after 15-20 days from mains exam.
5. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online examination will be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW:Candidates who have been shortlisted in the examination for CWE PO/MT-VII will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.

Immediately after online Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test on paper/Pen/ online mode.

(ii)The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration (50 marks) will be of English Language (comprehension, short précise, letter writing & essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.

(b) Phase-II: – Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.
