1. 6TH BIMSTEC SUMMIT –

• The Indian Prime Minister participated in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, hosted by Thailand under its chairmanship.
• The summit’s theme was “BIMSTEC: Prosperous, Resilient, and Open,” focusing on strengthening regional cooperation and addressing key challenges.

Key Highlights of the 6th BIMSTEC Summit?

• Vision 2030 Document: The Summit adopted the Summit Declaration and Bangkok Vision 2030, outlining a roadmap for regional prosperity with a focus on economic integration, resilience to global challenges, and collaboration in infrastructure, and technology.

Key Initiatives Announced by India:

• BIMSTEC Centres of Excellence: India announced establishment of BIMSTEC Centres of Excellence in India, focusing on Disaster Management, Sustainable Maritime Transport, Traditional Medicine, and Research and Training in Agriculture.
• It also proposed a pilot study on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to enhance governance and service delivery in BIMSTEC.

 

छठा बिम्सटेक शिखर सम्मेलन –

• भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री ने थाईलैंड की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित छठे बिम्सटेक शिखर सम्मेलन में भाग लिया।
• शिखर सम्मेलन का विषय “बिम्सटेक: समृद्ध, लचीला और खुला” था, जो क्षेत्रीय सहयोग को मजबूत करने और प्रमुख चुनौतियों का समाधान करने पर केंद्रित था।

छठे बिम्सटेक शिखर सम्मेलन की मुख्य विशेषताएं?

• विजन 2030 दस्तावेज: शिखर सम्मेलन ने शिखर सम्मेलन घोषणा और बैंकॉक विजन 2030 को अपनाया, जिसमें आर्थिक एकीकरण, वैश्विक चुनौतियों के प्रति लचीलापन और बुनियादी ढांचे और प्रौद्योगिकी में सहयोग पर ध्यान केंद्रित करते हुए क्षेत्रीय समृद्धि के लिए एक रोडमैप की रूपरेखा तैयार की गई।

भारत द्वारा घोषित प्रमुख पहल:

• बिम्सटेक उत्कृष्टता केंद्र: भारत ने भारत में बिम्सटेक उत्कृष्टता केंद्रों की स्थापना की घोषणा की, जो आपदा प्रबंधन, सतत समुद्री परिवहन, पारंपरिक चिकित्सा और कृषि में अनुसंधान और प्रशिक्षण पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगे।
• इसने बिम्सटेक में शासन और सेवा वितरण को बढ़ाने के लिए डिजिटल सार्वजनिक अवसंरचना (DPI) पर एक पायलट अध्ययन का भी प्रस्ताव रखा।

 

2. INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SPORT FOR DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE (IDSDP) 2025 –

• The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) is celebrated annually on April 6th. This day is dedicated to recognizing the potential of sport in fostering positive social change, bridging societal barriers, and transcending boundaries.
• The United Nations General Assembly declared this observance to highlight the role of sport in promoting peace, equality, and inclusive development. Sport is increasingly seen as a tool for empowering marginalized groups and promoting social inclusion, peace, and justice.
• The theme for 2025, “Leveling the Playing Field: Sport for Social Inclusion,” focuses on how sport can serve as a powerful vehicle for addressing social challenges, including gender equality, racial equality, and inclusion of marginalized groups.

विकास और शांति के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस (IDSDP) 2025 –

• विकास और शांति के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस (IDSDP) हर साल 6 अप्रैल को मनाया जाता है। यह दिन सकारात्मक सामाजिक परिवर्तन को बढ़ावा देने, सामाजिक बाधाओं को दूर करने और सीमाओं को पार करने में खेल की क्षमता को पहचानने के लिए समर्पित है।
• संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने शांति, समानता और समावेशी विकास को बढ़ावा देने में खेल की भूमिका को उजागर करने के लिए इस उत्सव की घोषणा की। खेल को हाशिए पर पड़े समूहों को सशक्त बनाने और सामाजिक समावेश, शांति और न्याय को बढ़ावा देने के साधन के रूप में देखा जा रहा है।
• 2025 का विषय, “खेल के मैदान को समतल करना: सामाजिक समावेश के लिए खेल”, इस बात पर केंद्रित है कि कैसे खेल लैंगिक समानता, नस्लीय समानता और हाशिए पर पड़े समूहों के समावेश सहित सामाजिक चुनौतियों का समाधान करने के लिए एक शक्तिशाली साधन के रूप में काम कर सकता है।

 

3. HARYANA DECLARES TWO HARAPPAN SITES AS PROTECTED ARCHAEOLOGICAL MONUMENTS –

• The Haryana government has officially declared two Harappan civilization sites located in Bhiwani district — Mitathal and Tighrana — as protected archaeological sites and monuments.
• These sites, dating back over 4,400 years, hold immense historical and cultural value, shedding light on the evolution of early agricultural societies, town planning, craft industries, and trade during the Harappan and post-Harappan periods.
• The sites have now been brought under legal protection through a notification issued by the Haryana Heritage and Tourism Department under the Haryana Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1964.
• The move aims to safeguard these ancient settlements from encroachment and damage, with fencing and security arrangements to be implemented.

हरियाणा ने दो हड़प्पा स्थलों को संरक्षित पुरातात्विक स्मारक घोषित किया –

• हरियाणा सरकार ने भिवानी जिले में स्थित दो हड़प्पा सभ्यता स्थलों – मिताथल और तिघराना – को आधिकारिक तौर पर संरक्षित पुरातात्विक स्थल और स्मारक घोषित किया है।
• 4,400 साल से भी पुराने ये स्थल ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृतिक महत्व रखते हैं, जो हड़प्पा और हड़प्पा के बाद के काल के दौरान प्रारंभिक कृषि समाजों, नगर नियोजन, शिल्प उद्योगों और व्यापार के विकास पर प्रकाश डालते हैं।
• हरियाणा प्राचीन एवं ऐतिहासिक स्मारक तथा पुरातत्व स्थल एवं अवशेष अधिनियम, 1964 के तहत हरियाणा विरासत एवं पर्यटन विभाग द्वारा जारी अधिसूचना के माध्यम से अब इन स्थलों को कानूनी संरक्षण में लाया गया है।
• इस कदम का उद्देश्य इन प्राचीन बस्तियों को अतिक्रमण और क्षति से बचाना है, तथा बाड़ लगाने और सुरक्षा व्यवस्था लागू की जाएगी।

 

4. NEW PAMBAN BRIDGE INAUGURATED BY PM MODI –

• On April 6, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the New Pamban Bridge in Tamil Nadu, marking a historic milestone in India’s infrastructure development.
• This first vertical-lift sea bridge in the country replaces the century-old Pamban Bridge and stands as a marvel of modern engineering. The bridge, which connects Rameswaram Island to Mandapam on the mainland, is designed for both durability and technological excellence.
• The inauguration coincided with Ram Navami and PM Modi’s return from Sri Lanka, where he also had a divine aerial view of Ram Setu, symbolically linking the spiritual and structural achievements of the day.

प्रधानमंत्री मोदी द्वारा नए पंबन पुल का उद्घाटन –

• 6 अप्रैल, 2025 को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने तमिलनाडु में नए पंबन पुल का उद्घाटन किया, जो भारत के बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास में एक ऐतिहासिक मील का पत्थर साबित होगा।
• देश का यह पहला वर्टिकल-लिफ्ट समुद्री पुल सौ साल पुराने पंबन पुल की जगह लेगा और आधुनिक इंजीनियरिंग का एक चमत्कार है। यह पुल रामेश्वरम द्वीप को मुख्य भूमि पर मंडपम से जोड़ता है, जिसे स्थायित्व और तकनीकी उत्कृष्टता दोनों के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है।
• उद्घाटन राम नवमी और प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के श्रीलंका से लौटने के साथ हुआ, जहाँ उन्होंने राम सेतु का दिव्य हवाई दृश्य भी देखा, जो प्रतीकात्मक रूप से उस दिन की आध्यात्मिक और संरचनात्मक उपलब्धियों को जोड़ता है।

 

5. DELHI IMPLEMENTS AYUSHMAN BHARAT SCHEME & BECAME 35TH STATE/UT –

• On April 5, 2025, Delhi became the 35th state or Union Territory to formally implement the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), a flagship healthcare program by the Government of India.
• This initiative is a historic milestone for the national capital, as it will now allow Delhi’s residents to access the benefits of the scheme. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hailed the decision as a significant step forward, ensuring that more people would benefit from the program’s vast healthcare coverage.
• Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh criticized the previous AAP government for delaying the rollout and stated that the registration for beneficiaries would start on April 10, 2025.
• The scheme has been operational in 34 other states and UTs, but Delhi’s inclusion marks a crucial expansion, enhancing healthcare access for millions of people in the region.

दिल्ली ने आयुष्मान भारत योजना लागू की और 35वाँ राज्य/केंद्र शासित प्रदेश बना –

• 5 अप्रैल, 2025 को, दिल्ली भारत सरकार द्वारा एक प्रमुख स्वास्थ्य सेवा कार्यक्रम, आयुष्मान भारत प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना (AB-PMJAY) को औपचारिक रूप से लागू करने वाला 35वाँ राज्य या केंद्र शासित प्रदेश बन गया।
• यह पहल राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के लिए एक ऐतिहासिक मील का पत्थर है, क्योंकि इससे अब दिल्ली के निवासियों को योजना का लाभ मिल सकेगा। मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने इस निर्णय की सराहना करते हुए इसे एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम बताया, जिससे यह सुनिश्चित होगा कि अधिक से अधिक लोग इस कार्यक्रम के व्यापक स्वास्थ्य सेवा कवरेज से लाभान्वित होंगे।
• स्वास्थ्य मंत्री पंकज कुमार सिंह ने योजना की शुरुआत में देरी के लिए पिछली आप सरकार की आलोचना की और कहा कि लाभार्थियों के लिए पंजीकरण 10 अप्रैल, 2025 से शुरू होगा।
• यह योजना 34 अन्य राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में चालू है, लेकिन दिल्ली का इसमें शामिल होना एक महत्वपूर्ण विस्तार है, जिससे क्षेत्र के लाखों लोगों के लिए स्वास्थ्य सेवा तक पहुंच बढ़ेगी।
