1. INDIA’S PROPOSED FREE TRADE AGREEMENT WITH THE U.K –

• India has signed 13 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and six preferential trade pacts to boost exports and ensure better market access for Indian industries.

India’s Exports to UK (FY24): $12.9 billion-

• Limited impact on exports as half of Indian products already enter the UK with low or no tariffs.
• No additional benefits for petroleum, medicines, diamonds, machine parts, aircraft, and wooden furniture (already tariff-free).
• Potential tariff reduction benefits for textiles, footwear, carpets, marine products, grapes, and mangoes.

यू.के. के साथ भारत का प्रस्तावित मुक्त व्यापार समझौता –

• भारत ने निर्यात को बढ़ावा देने और भारतीय उद्योगों के लिए बेहतर बाजार पहुंच सुनिश्चित करने के लिए 13 मुक्त व्यापार समझौतों (एफटीए) और छह तरजीही व्यापार समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

भारत का यू.के. को निर्यात (वित्त वर्ष 24): $12.9 बिलियन-

• निर्यात पर सीमित प्रभाव, क्योंकि आधे भारतीय उत्पाद पहले से ही कम या बिना किसी टैरिफ के यू.के. में प्रवेश करते हैं।
• पेट्रोलियम, दवाइयों, हीरे, मशीन पार्ट्स, विमान और लकड़ी के फर्नीचर (पहले से ही टैरिफ-मुक्त) के लिए कोई अतिरिक्त लाभ नहीं।
• कपड़ा, जूते, कालीन, समुद्री उत्पाद, अंगूर और आम के लिए संभावित टैरिफ कटौती लाभ।

 

2. INDIA’S SPACE ECONOMY –

• The Department of Space has highlighted that India’s Space economy is expected to increase five-fold from 8.4p bn $ to 44 bn $ in a few years making value addition in the Indian economy and moving towards Viksit Bharat @2047.
• Current Value: India’s space industry is valued at approximately $8.4 billion, contributing 2% to the global space economy.
• Government Spending: Annual spending on space programs is approximately $2 billion.
• Satellite Launches and Revenue: Since 1999, India has launched 381 satellites for 34 countries, generating $279 million in revenues.
• Global Position: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the sixth-largest national space agency in the world.
• Future Potential: India’s space economy could grow to ₹35,200 crore ($44 billion) by 2033, capturing 8% of the global share.

भारत की अंतरिक्ष अर्थव्यवस्था –

• अंतरिक्ष विभाग ने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला है कि भारत की अंतरिक्ष अर्थव्यवस्था कुछ वर्षों में 4 बिलियन डॉलर से पाँच गुना बढ़कर 44 बिलियन डॉलर हो जाने की उम्मीद है, जिससे भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में मूल्यवर्धन होगा और 2047 तक विकसित भारत की ओर कदम बढ़ाए जाएँगे।
• वर्तमान मूल्य: भारत के अंतरिक्ष उद्योग का मूल्य लगभग 4 बिलियन डॉलर है, जो वैश्विक अंतरिक्ष अर्थव्यवस्था में 2% का योगदान देता है।
• सरकारी खर्च: अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रमों पर वार्षिक खर्च लगभग 2 बिलियन डॉलर है।
• उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण और राजस्व: 1999 से, भारत ने 34 देशों के लिए 381 उपग्रहों को लॉन्च किया है, जिससे 279 मिलियन डॉलर का राजस्व प्राप्त हुआ है।
• वैश्विक स्थिति: भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) दुनिया की छठी सबसे बड़ी राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी है।
• भविष्य की संभावना: भारत की अंतरिक्ष अर्थव्यवस्था 2033 तक ₹35,200 करोड़ ($44 बिलियन) तक बढ़ सकती है, जो वैश्विक हिस्सेदारी का 8% होगी।

 

3. INDIA SUCCESSFULLY TEST FIRES NAVAL ANTI-SHIP MISSILE –

• India has successfully conducted the test-firing of a first-of-its-kind Naval Anti-Ship Missile (NASM-SR) from Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha. The missile was launched from an Indian Naval Seaking helicopter and successfully demonstrated its precision strike capability.
• This achievement marks a significant milestone in India’s defense and naval warfare capabilities.

भारत ने नौसेना की एंटी-शिप मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण किया –

• भारत ने ओडिशा के तट पर चांदीपुर से अपनी तरह की पहली नौसेना एंटी-शिप मिसाइल (NASM-SR) का सफल परीक्षण किया है। मिसाइल को भारतीय नौसेना के सीकिंग हेलीकॉप्टर से लॉन्च किया गया और इसने अपनी सटीक स्ट्राइक क्षमता का सफलतापूर्वक प्रदर्शन किया।
• यह उपलब्धि भारत की रक्षा और नौसेना युद्ध क्षमताओं में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर है।

 

4. MADHYA PRADESH NOW HOME TO INDIA’S HIGHEST VULTURE POPULATION –

• Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the state with the highest vulture population in India, marking a major success in wildlife conservation. According to the first phase of the 2025 vulture census, the state’s vulture population has reached 12,981, a significant increase from 10,845 in 2024 and 8,397 in 2019.
• This steady rise highlights the effectiveness of conservation measures implemented over the years. The vulture census, which began in 2016, plays a crucial role in tracking population trends and ensuring the survival of these important scavengers.

मध्य प्रदेश अब भारत में सबसे अधिक गिद्ध आबादी वाला राज्य बन गया है –

• मध्य प्रदेश भारत में सबसे अधिक गिद्ध आबादी वाला राज्य बन गया है, जो वन्यजीव संरक्षण में एक बड़ी सफलता है। 2025 की गिद्ध जनगणना के पहले चरण के अनुसार, राज्य की गिद्ध आबादी 12,981 तक पहुँच गई है, जो 2024 में 10,845 और 2019 में 8,397 से उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि है।
• यह स्थिर वृद्धि पिछले कुछ वर्षों में लागू किए गए संरक्षण उपायों की प्रभावशीलता को उजागर करती है। 2016 में शुरू हुई गिद्ध जनगणना जनसंख्या के रुझानों पर नज़र रखने और इन महत्वपूर्ण मैला ढोने वालों के अस्तित्व को सुनिश्चित करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है।

 

5. RECORD-BREAKING MASS NESTING OF OLIVE RIDLEY TURTLES AT RUSHIKULYA BEACH –

• In a spectacular natural event, nearly 700,000 Olive Ridley turtles have laid eggs at the Rushikulya rookery in Odisha’s Ganjam district during the eight-day arribada (Spanish for mass nesting) that concluded on February 23, 2025.
• This marks a record-breaking number, especially significant as the endangered marine species had skipped nesting at the beach the previous year.

रुशिकुल्या समुद्र तट पर ऑलिव रिडले कछुओं का रिकॉर्ड तोड़ सामूहिक घोंसला बनाना –

• एक शानदार प्राकृतिक घटना में, लगभग 700,000 ऑलिव रिडले कछुओं ने ओडिशा के गंजम जिले में रुशिकुल्या रॉकरी में आठ दिवसीय अरिबाडा (स्पेनिश में सामूहिक घोंसला बनाना) के दौरान अंडे दिए हैं, जो 23 फरवरी, 2025 को समाप्त हुआ।
• यह एक रिकॉर्ड तोड़ने वाली संख्या है, विशेष रूप से महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि लुप्तप्राय समुद्री प्रजातियों ने पिछले वर्ष समुद्र तट पर घोंसला बनाने से परहेज किया था।
