1. LOGISTICS: INDIA’S GROWTH ENGINE –

• Recently, the third anniversary of the National Logistics Policy (2022) was commemorated by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
• On the occasion of a decade of Make in India, the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry launched the first-ever scientifically derived report on logistics costs in India.
• It has been prepared by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) for the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

• Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) 3.0: Offers investors transparent and credible information.

• हाल ही में, वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय के उद्योग एवं आंतरिक व्यापार संवर्धन विभाग (DPIIT) द्वारा राष्ट्रीय लॉजिस्टिक्स नीति (2022) की तीसरी वर्षगांठ मनाई गई।
• मेक इन इंडिया के एक दशक पूरे होने के अवसर पर, केंद्रीय वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री ने भारत में लॉजिस्टिक्स लागत पर पहली वैज्ञानिक रूप से तैयार रिपोर्ट लॉन्च की।
• इसे राष्ट्रीय अनुप्रयुक्त आर्थिक अनुसंधान परिषद (NCAER) द्वारा उद्योग एवं आंतरिक व्यापार संवर्धन विभाग (DPIIT) के लिए तैयार किया गया है।

2. AHMEDABAD TO HOST 11TH ASIAN AQUATICS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 –

• The city of Ahmedabad is set to host the 11th Asian Aquatics Championship from September 28 to October 11, 2025, marking the first time India is organizing this prestigious continental event. The venue, Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Narangpura, was recently inaugurated and now joins the ranks of international-standard sports infrastructure in India. The championship is being held under the aegis of Asia Aquatics, with the Swimming Federation of India overseeing operations and support from the Sports Authority of Gujarat.

A Major Event in the Asian Sporting Calendar

• The championship will feature competitions in four aquatic disciplines,
• Swimming
• Diving
• Artistic Swimming
• Water Polo
• More than 900 athletes from 29 Asian countries are expected to participate, making this one of the largest aquatic sporting events ever held in India.
• Crucially, the event also serves as a qualifier for the 2026 Asian Games, giving Indian athletes a rare opportunity to compete at home under international standards.

अहमदाबाद 2025 में 11वीं एशियाई एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप की मेज़बानी करेगा –

• अहमदाबाद शहर 28 सितंबर से 11 अक्टूबर, 2025 तक 11वीं एशियाई एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप की मेज़बानी करेगा, जो भारत में पहली बार इस प्रतिष्ठित महाद्वीपीय आयोजन का प्रतीक है। नारंगपुरा स्थित वीर सावरकर स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स का हाल ही में उद्घाटन किया गया और अब यह भारत में अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के खेल बुनियादी ढाँचे की श्रेणी में शामिल हो गया है। यह चैंपियनशिप एशिया एक्वेटिक्स के तत्वावधान में आयोजित की जा रही है, जिसका संचालन भारतीय तैराकी महासंघ देख रहा है और गुजरात खेल प्राधिकरण इसका समर्थन कर रहा है।

3. CENTRE EXTENDS GENERAL ANIL CHAUHAN’S TENURE AS CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF TILL 2026 –

• In a significant development aimed at ensuring continuity and stability in India’s military leadership, the Central government has extended the tenure of General Anil Chauhan as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). The decision, announced on September 24, 2025, allows General Chauhan to continue in the crucial post till May 30, 2026, or until further orders. This extension reaffirms the government’s focus on strengthening jointness, coordination, and modernization across the three armed forces.

Background on General Anil Chauhan

• General Anil Chauhan is India’s second Chief of Defence Staff, succeeding General Bipin Rawat.
• He was appointed as CDS in September 2022.
• As CDS, he also serves as Secretary, Department of Military Affairs (DMA) under the Ministry of Defence.
• General Chauhan is a veteran officer with decades of experience in strategic planning, operational command, and defence modernization.

4. PM NARENDRA MODI CHAIRS 49TH PRAGATI MEETING –

• On 24 September 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 49th meeting of PRAGATI—an ICT-enabled multi-modal platform designed for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation. The initiative connects the Centre and States, aiming to fast-track key development projects, resolve bottlenecks efficiently, and ensure on-time delivery of public assets. At this latest session, the Prime Minister reviewed eight major infrastructure projects in sectors such as Mines, Railways, Water Resources, Industrial Corridors, and Power.

Understanding PRAGATI

• PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance And Timely Implementation) is a digital platform developed by the Prime Minister’s Office.
• It facilitates real-time monitoring and coordination between the central government and state administrations to streamline complex infrastructure and public service projects.
• The platform allows for direct interaction between the PM and state officials, helping break through bureaucratic delays and inter-departmental friction.
• It has become an essential governance tool to ensure that critical national projects do not get stalled and that citizens receive intended benefits without undue delay.

 

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 49वीं प्रगति बैठक की अध्यक्षता की –

5. NVIDIA TO INVEST $100 BILLION IN OPENAI A HISTORIC PUSH TO AI INFRA –

• In a bold move that signals the intensifying race in artificial intelligence infrastructure, Nvidia has announced a massive $100 billion investment in OpenAI to build a next-generation AI compute network. The agreement, revealed on September 22, 2025, outlines a vision to deploy at least 10 gigawatts (GW) of Nvidia-powered infrastructure that will support OpenAI’s growing demand for AI training and deployment at scale.

Nvidia–OpenAI Deal: What’s in It?

• The investment begins with a letter of intent signed between Nvidia and OpenAI, establishing a strategic partnership to create an AI factory of the future. At its core is the commitment to deploy 10 GW of Nvidia GPUs and networking technologies to build dedicated AI infrastructure for OpenAI. This will enable OpenAI to scale its large language models, like GPT and Codex, far beyond their current capacity.
• The deal also involves co-optimisation of software and hardware, meaning Nvidia and OpenAI will jointly plan their development paths—improving efficiency and performance for future AI models.
