1. NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY –

• National Mathematics Day is observed on 22nd December to commemorate the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, one of India’s greatest mathematicians, often described as the man who seemingly knew infinity.
• The Day was instituted in 2011, with 2012 declared as the National Mathematics Year, to promote India’s mathematical heritage.
• Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887–1920) was born in Erode, Tamil Nadu, and displayed an extraordinary intuitive grasp of mathematics from a very young age.
• Began producing original mathematical results as a teenager, recording them in what later became known as Ramanujan’s Frayed Notebooks.
• He became one of the youngest Fellows of the Royal Society (UK) and, in 1918, the second Indian to be elected to the Royal Society, as well as the first Indian Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.

राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस –

• राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस 22 दिसंबर को भारत के महानतम गणितज्ञों में से एक श्रीनिवास रामानुजन की जयंती मनाने के लिए मनाया जाता है, जिन्हें अक्सर ऐसा व्यक्ति बताया जाता है जो अनंत को जानता था।
• यह दिवस 2011 में शुरू किया गया था, और 2012 को भारत की गणितीय विरासत को बढ़ावा देने के लिए राष्ट्रीय गणित वर्ष घोषित किया गया था।
• श्रीनिवास रामानुजन (1887-1920) का जन्म इरोड, तमिलनाडु में हुआ था, और उन्होंने बहुत कम उम्र से ही गणित की असाधारण सहज समझ दिखाई।
• किशोरावस्था में ही उन्होंने मौलिक गणितीय परिणाम देना शुरू कर दिया था, जिन्हें बाद में रामानुजन की फटी हुई नोटबुक के नाम से जाना गया।
• वह रॉयल सोसाइटी (यूके) के सबसे कम उम्र के फेलो में से एक बने और 1918 में, रॉयल सोसाइटी के लिए चुने जाने वाले दूसरे भारतीय, साथ ही ट्रिनिटी कॉलेज, कैम्ब्रिज के पहले भारतीय फेलो बने।

 

2. KHELO INDIA TRIBAL GAMES LOGO, MASCOT UNVEILED IN CHHATTISGARH –

• The logo, theme song and mascot of the first-ever Khelo India Tribal Games (KITG) were formally unveiled on Tuesday at the Late B. R. Yadav Sports Stadium in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The landmark national sporting event dedicated exclusively to tribal athletes will be held from February 14, 2026, marking a major step towards inclusive sports development.

High-Level Launch Ceremony in Bilaspur

• The unveiling ceremony was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao as chief guests. Senior officials from the Union Sports Ministry, the Chhattisgarh government and the Sports Authority of India were also present, underlining the national importance of the Games.

Objectives and National Sports Vision

• Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya emphasised that the Khelo India Tribal Games would significantly expand India’s sporting talent pool. He highlighted the need to systematically identify and nurture talent from tribal regions and integrate promising athletes into the national sports ecosystem through structured support.

छत्तीसगढ़ में खेलो इंडिया ट्राइबल गेम्स का लोगो, शुभंकर लॉन्च किया गया –

• पहले खेलो इंडिया ट्राइबल गेम्स (KITG) का लोगो, थीम सॉन्ग और शुभंकर मंगलवार को बिलासपुर, छत्तीसगढ़ के स्वर्गीय बी. आर. यादव स्पोर्ट्स स्टेडियम में औपचारिक रूप से लॉन्च किया गया। यह ऐतिहासिक राष्ट्रीय खेल आयोजन, जो विशेष रूप से आदिवासी एथलीटों को समर्पित है, 14 फरवरी, 2026 से आयोजित किया जाएगा, जो समावेशी खेल विकास की दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम है।

बिलासपुर में उच्च-स्तरीय लॉन्च समारोह

• लॉन्च समारोह में छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्री विष्णु देव साई और उपमुख्यमंत्री अरुण साव मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित थे। केंद्रीय खेल मंत्रालय, छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार और भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी मौजूद थे, जो खेलों के राष्ट्रीय महत्व को रेखांकित करता है।

उद्देश्य और राष्ट्रीय खेल विजन

• केंद्रीय युवा मामले और खेल मंत्री मनसुख मंडाविया ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि खेलो इंडिया ट्राइबल गेम्स भारत के खेल प्रतिभा पूल का महत्वपूर्ण रूप से विस्तार करेंगे। उन्होंने आदिवासी क्षेत्रों से प्रतिभाओं की व्यवस्थित रूप से पहचान करने और उन्हें पोषित करने और होनहार एथलीटों को संरचित समर्थन के माध्यम से राष्ट्रीय खेल पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र में एकीकृत करने की आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश डाला।

 

3. RBI ANNOUNCES OMO PURCHASES AND DOLLAR RUPEE SWAP TO BOOST LIQUIDITY –

• On a review of prevailing liquidity and financial conditions, the Reserve Bank of India on December 23, 2025 announced a fresh set of liquidity infusion measures. These include Open Market Operation purchases of Government of India securities worth ₹2,00,000 crore and a Dollar Rupee (USD/INR) Buy/Sell Swap auction of $10 billion for a tenor of three years, aimed at easing pressures in the banking and foreign exchange markets.

Details of the OMO Purchase Programme

• The central bank will conduct OMO purchases of government securities in four equal tranches of ₹50,000 crore each. These auctions are scheduled for December 29, 2025, January 5, 2026, January 12, 2026, and January 22, 2026. Analysts expect the move to inject durable rupee liquidity into the banking system, supporting credit flow and stabilising short-term money market rates amid tight conditions.

RBI ने लिक्विडिटी बढ़ाने के लिए OMO खरीद और डॉलर–रुपया स्वैप की घोषणा की –

• मौजूदा लिक्विडिटी और वित्तीय स्थितियों की समीक्षा के बाद, भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक ने 23 दिसंबर, 2025 को लिक्विडिटी बढ़ाने के उपायों का एक नया सेट घोषित किया। इनमें भारत सरकार की ₹2,00,000 करोड़ की सिक्योरिटीज़ की ओपन मार्केट ऑपरेशन खरीद और तीन साल की अवधि के लिए $10 बिलियन का डॉलर-रुपया (USD/INR) खरीद/बिक्री स्वैप नीलामी शामिल है, जिसका मकसद बैंकिंग और विदेशी मुद्रा बाजारों में दबाव को कम करना है।

OMO खरीद कार्यक्रम का विवरण

• सेंट्रल बैंक सरकारी सिक्योरिटीज़ की OMO खरीद चार बराबर किस्तों में करेगा, प्रत्येक ₹50,000 करोड़ की। ये नीलामी 29 दिसंबर, 2025, 5 जनवरी, 2026, 12 जनवरी, 2026 और 22 जनवरी, 2026 को होनी हैं। विश्लेषकों को उम्मीद है कि इस कदम से बैंकिंग सिस्टम में स्थायी रुपये की लिक्विडिटी आएगी, जिससे क्रेडिट प्रवाह को समर्थन मिलेगा और तंग स्थितियों के बीच शॉर्ट-टर्म मनी मार्केट दरों में स्थिरता आएगी।

 

4. CENTRE FINALISES INDIA’S FIRST NATIONAL ANTI-TERROR POLICY –

• The Union government is in the final stages of drafting India’s first comprehensive anti-terror policy, aimed at providing a uniform framework for States to prevent, combat, and respond to terrorist incidents. Senior officials have indicated that the policy will address emerging threats such as digital radicalisation, misuse of open borders, and foreign-funded conversion networks, reflecting evolving security challenges.

Role of Home Ministry and NIA

• The policy is being finalised by the Ministry of Home Affairs with substantive inputs from the National Investigation Agency. An NIA official confirmed that the agency has contributed operational and intelligence perspectives to the document. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had announced in November that a National Counter Terrorism Policy and Strategy would be introduced in the near future.

केंद्र ने भारत की पहली राष्ट्रीय आतंकवाद विरोधी नीति को अंतिम रूप दिया –

• केंद्र सरकार भारत की पहली व्यापक आतंकवाद विरोधी नीति का मसौदा तैयार करने के अंतिम चरण में है, जिसका मकसद राज्यों को आतंकवादी घटनाओं को रोकने, मुकाबला करने और जवाब देने के लिए एक समान ढांचा प्रदान करना है। वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने संकेत दिया है कि यह नीति डिजिटल कट्टरपंथ, खुली सीमाओं के दुरुपयोग और विदेशी वित्त पोषित धर्मांतरण नेटवर्क जैसे उभरते खतरों को संबोधित करेगी, जो बदलते सुरक्षा चुनौतियों को दर्शाती है।

गृह मंत्रालय और NIA की भूमिका

• इस नीति को गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी से महत्वपूर्ण इनपुट के साथ अंतिम रूप दिया जा रहा है। NIA के एक अधिकारी ने पुष्टि की है कि एजेंसी ने दस्तावेज़ में परिचालन और खुफिया दृष्टिकोण का योगदान दिया है। केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने नवंबर में घोषणा की थी कि निकट भविष्य में एक राष्ट्रीय आतंकवाद विरोधी नीति और रणनीति पेश की जाएगी।

 

5. GOOD GOVERNANCE DAY HIGHLIGHTS INDIA’S CITIZEN-CENTRIC GOVERNANCE FRAMEWORK –

• Good Governance Day is observed annually on December 25 to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The day underscores the principles of accountability, transparency, and people-oriented administration, reflecting Vajpayee’s enduring vision of governance that directly improves citizens’ quality of life.

Legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Governance Ideals

• Atal Bihari Vajpayee served as Prime Minister of India on three occasions and was known for his inclusive leadership and democratic values. During his tenure, he prioritised infrastructure development, including national highways, rural roads, telecom expansion, and institutional reforms. Awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1992 and the Bharat Ratna in 2015, Vajpayee’s governance philosophy continues to guide India’s focus on efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric service delivery.

सुशासन दिवस भारत के नागरिक–केंद्रित शासन ढांचे पर प्रकाश डालता है –

• सुशासन दिवस हर साल 25 दिसंबर को पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की जयंती मनाने के लिए मनाया जाता है। यह दिन जवाबदेही, पारदर्शिता और जन-उन्मुख प्रशासन के सिद्धांतों पर ज़ोर देता है, जो वाजपेयी के शासन के स्थायी विज़न को दर्शाता है जो सीधे नागरिकों के जीवन की गुणवत्ता में सुधार करता है।

अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की विरासत और शासन के आदर्श

• अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी ने तीन बार भारत के प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया और वे अपने समावेशी नेतृत्व और लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों के लिए जाने जाते थे। अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान, उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों, ग्रामीण सड़कों, दूरसंचार विस्तार और संस्थागत सुधारों सहित बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास को प्राथमिकता दी। 1992 में पद्म विभूषण और 2015 में भारत रत्न से सम्मानित, वाजपेयी का शासन दर्शन कुशल, पारदर्शी और नागरिक-केंद्रित सेवा वितरण पर भारत के फोकस का मार्गदर्शन करता रहता है।
