1. BANKS SANCTION ₹35,194 CRORE UNDER ECLGS 5.0  –

• The Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0 is a government credit guarantee scheme approved by the Union Cabinet on 5 May 2026 for industries affected by the West Asia crisis, including Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and airlines. Banks had sanctioned ₹35,194 crore in loans under the scheme by 29 May 2026.

Scheme Framework

• ECLGS 5.0 has a budgetary outlay of ₹18,100 crore and is designed to facilitate additional credit flow of ₹2.55 lakh crore. The scheme includes a specific allocation of ₹5,000 crore for airlines.

Eligibility and Coverage

• Borrowers eligible for ECLGS 5.0 must have credit facilities classified as Standard, excluding Special Mention Account-2, as of 31 March 2026. The scheme remains open for loan sanctions until 31 March 2027 or until guarantees for the full ₹2.55 lakh crore are issued, whichever occurs earlier.

बैंकों ने ईसीएलजीएस 5.0 के तहत ₹35,194 करोड़ के ऋण स्वीकृत किए –

• आपातकालीन ऋण गारंटी योजना (ईसीएलजीएस) 5.0 एक सरकारी ऋण गारंटी योजना है जिसे केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 5 मई 2026 को पश्चिम एशिया संकट से प्रभावित उद्योगों, जिनमें सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यम (एमएसएमई) और एयरलाइंस शामिल हैं, के लिए अनुमोदित किया था। बैंकों ने 29 मई 2026 तक इस योजना के तहत ₹35,194 करोड़ के ऋण स्वीकृत किए थे।

योजना का ढांचा

• ईसीएलजीएस 5.0 का बजटीय परिव्यय ₹18,100 करोड़ है और इसे ₹2.55 लाख करोड़ के अतिरिक्त ऋण प्रवाह को सुगम बनाने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है। इस योजना में एयरलाइंस के लिए ₹5,000 करोड़ का विशेष आवंटन शामिल है।

पात्रता और कवरेज

• ईसीएलजीएस 5.0 के लिए पात्र उधारकर्ताओं के पास 31 मार्च 2026 तक स्टैंडर्ड श्रेणी की क्रेडिट सुविधाएं होनी चाहिए, जिसमें स्पेशल मेंशन अकाउंट-2 शामिल नहीं है। यह योजना 31 मार्च 2027 तक या पूरे ₹2.55 लाख करोड़ की गारंटी जारी होने तक, जो भी पहले हो, ऋण स्वीकृति के लिए खुली रहेगी।

 

2. SUMAN KALYANPUR DIES AT 89 –

• Suman Kalyanpur, a veteran playback singer associated with Hindi and Marathi film music, died on 31 May 2026 at the age of 89. She died at her residence in Lokhandwala, Mumbai, due to age-related ailments. Her last rites were scheduled for 1 June 2026 at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai.

Suman Kalyanpur and Indian Playback Singing

• Suman Kalyanpur sang in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, and Assamese film industries. Playback singing in Indian cinema refers to pre-recorded songs sung by professional singers for actors on screen. Her career spanned more than six decades and included songs such as Aajkal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche and Na Na Karte Pyar Tumhin Se.

सुमन कल्याणपुर का 89 वर्ष की आयु में निधन –

• हिंदी और मराठी फिल्म संगीत से जुड़ी दिग्गज पार्श्व गायिका सुमन कल्याणपुर का 31 मई 2026 को 89 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया। उनका निधन मुंबई के लोखंडवाला स्थित उनके आवास पर वृद्धावस्था संबंधी बीमारियों के कारण हुआ। उनका अंतिम संस्कार 1 जून 2026 को मुंबई के पवन हंस श्मशान घाट में निर्धारित किया गया था।

सुमन कल्याणपुर और भारतीय पार्श्व गायन

• सुमन कल्याणपुर ने हिंदी, मराठी, बंगाली, कन्नड़ और असमिया फिल्म उद्योगों में गाया। भारतीय सिनेमा में पार्श्व गायन से तात्पर्य पेशेवर गायकों द्वारा अभिनेताओं के लिए पहले से रिकॉर्ड किए गए गीतों से है। उनका करियर छह दशकों से अधिक समय तक चला और इसमें ‘आजकल तेरे मेरे प्यार के चर्चे’ और ‘ना ना करते प्यार तुमिन से’ जैसे गीत शामिल थे।

 

3. INDIA CONDUCTS SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT-TEST OF INDIGENOUS RUDRAM-II AIR-TO-SURFACE MISSILE –

• The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Air Fore (IAF) has successfully conducted the flight tests of the RudraM-II Air to Surface Missile on 2nd of June 2026. This missile was tested under the challenging operational conditions and it successfully struck its designated target with the remarkable precision.

What is the RudraM-II Missile?

• RudraM-II is an indigenously developed air to surface missile designed to launched from the fighter aircraft against ground-based targets. It is the part of the India’s effort to develop advanced precision guided weapons which are capable of to neutralizing enemy assets from the long distances.
• The missile ha been developed by the Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad and it serves as the nodal laboratory under DRDO. Several other DRDO laboratories and industry have partners and contributed to this project.

भारत ने स्वदेशी रुद्रम-II वायु-सतह मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण किया –

• रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) और भारतीय वायु सेना (आईएएफ) ने 2 जून, 2026 को रुद्रम-II वायु-सतह मिसाइल का सफल परीक्षण किया। इस मिसाइल का परीक्षण चुनौतीपूर्ण परिचालन परिस्थितियों में किया गया और इसने उल्लेखनीय सटीकता के साथ अपने निर्धारित लक्ष्य को सफलतापूर्वक भेदा।

रुद्रम-II मिसाइल क्या है?

• रुद्रम-II स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित वायु-सतह मिसाइल है जिसे लड़ाकू विमानों से जमीनी लक्ष्यों पर दागने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है। यह उन्नत सटीक निर्देशित हथियारों के विकास के भारत के प्रयासों का हिस्सा है जो लंबी दूरी से दुश्मन की संपत्तियों को निष्क्रिय करने में सक्षम हैं।
• इस मिसाइल को हैदराबाद स्थित इमारत अनुसंधान केंद्र (आरसीआई) द्वारा विकसित किया गया है और यह डीआरडीओ के तहत नोडल प्रयोगशाला के रूप में कार्य करता है। कई अन्य डीआरडीओ प्रयोगशालाओं और उद्योग ने इस परियोजना में भागीदार के रूप में योगदान दिया है।

 

4. PRESIDENT APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF FIVE NEW SUPREME COURT JUDGES –

• The Central Government of India has approved the appointment of the five new judges to the Supreme Court after newly expanded sanctioned strength of 38 judges. The appointments comes shortly after the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the new names and it marks the first major elevation exercise under the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant.

Centre Approves Five New Supreme Court Judges

• Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has announced that the Honorable President has approved the appointments under the Article 124(2) of the Constitution of India, which governs the appointment of judges to the Supreme Court.
• This appointments includes the four sitting High Court Chief Justices and one distinguished senior advocate.
• Approval came within the few days of the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendation which highlights the smooth coordination between the judiciary and the executive in this round of the appointments.

राष्ट्रपति ने सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के पांच नए न्यायाधीशों की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दी –

• भारत सरकार ने सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में पांच नए न्यायाधीशों की नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी है। स्वीकृत न्यायाधीशों की संख्या बढ़ाकर 38 कर दी गई है। ये नियुक्तियां सर्वोच्च न्यायालय कॉलेजियम द्वारा नए नामों की सिफारिश के तुरंत बाद हुई हैं और भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश (सीजेआई) सूर्यकांत के नेतृत्व में यह पहली बड़ी पदोन्नति प्रक्रिया है।

केंद्र ने सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के पांच नए न्यायाधीशों को मंजूरी दी

• केंद्रीय कानून मंत्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने घोषणा की है कि माननीय राष्ट्रपति ने भारत के संविधान के अनुच्छेद 124(2) के तहत नियुक्तियों को मंजूरी दे दी है, जो सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में न्यायाधीशों की नियुक्ति को नियंत्रित करता है।
• इन नियुक्तियों में चार मौजूदा उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश और एक प्रतिष्ठित वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता शामिल हैं।
• सर्वोच्च न्यायालय कॉलेजियम की सिफारिश के कुछ ही दिनों के भीतर मंजूरी मिल गई, जो नियुक्तियों के इस दौर में न्यायपालिका और कार्यपालिका के बीच सुचारू समन्वय को उजागर करता है।

 

5. INDIA SIGNS BRAHMOS MISSILE DEAL WITH VIETNAM, INDONESIA AGREEMENT NEARS COMPLETION –

• India’s Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh indicated that BrahMos missile deal with Vietnam has already been signed and negotiations with Indonesia has entered the final stage. This showcases the India’s growing role as the defense manufacturing and export hub and also highlights the increasing interest among Southeast Asian nations to acquiring advanced Indian military technology.

India Expands BrahMos Missile Exports

• The BrahMos missile system has emerged as India’s one of the most successful defense exports in recent years.
• Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in the Singapore, Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that Vietnam has already signed the deal to procure the BrahMos missile system but the official public announcement is yet to be made.
• He also confirmed that the negotiations with Indonesia are enetred in the final stages and could be concluded soon.

भारत ने वियतनाम और इंडोनेशिया के साथ ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए, समझौता अंतिम चरण में –

• भारत के रक्षा सचिव राजेश कुमार सिंह ने संकेत दिया कि वियतनाम के साथ ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर हो चुके हैं और इंडोनेशिया के साथ बातचीत अंतिम चरण में पहुंच गई है। यह रक्षा विनिर्माण और निर्यात केंद्र के रूप में भारत की बढ़ती भूमिका को दर्शाता है और साथ ही दक्षिण-पूर्व एशियाई देशों की उन्नत भारतीय सैन्य प्रौद्योगिकी हासिल करने में बढ़ती रुचि को भी उजागर करता है।

भारत ने ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल निर्यात का विस्तार किया

• ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल प्रणाली हाल के वर्षों में भारत के सबसे सफल रक्षा निर्यातों में से एक बनकर उभरी है।
• सिंगापुर में शांगरी-ला संवाद में बोलते हुए, रक्षा सचिव राजेश कुमार सिंह ने कहा कि वियतनाम ने ब्रह्मोस मिसाइल प्रणाली की खरीद के लिए समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर कर दिए हैं, लेकिन आधिकारिक घोषणा अभी बाकी है।
• उन्होंने यह भी पुष्टि की कि इंडोनेशिया के साथ बातचीत अंतिम चरण में है और जल्द ही पूरी हो सकती है।
