CTET 2018 Notification

Central teacher’s eligibility test(CTET 2018): – The official notification is expected to be released on 12 June 2018 as per the Advertisement in Employment newspaper. TET (central teacher eligibility test) is conducted by the central board of secondary education to recruit candidates for teaching in any part of country. These teachers are recruited in the central schools like NVS/KVS/Tibetan Schools etc. Every detail regarding CTET 2018 examination will be available in the official notification released by CBSE. Candidates will get to know about CTET 2018 Exam Dates, CTET Syllabus, and CTET Eligibility Criteria etc. through CTET 2018 Official Notification. Candidates are requested to visit this site constantly to remain updated about CTET 2018. As this time the mode of CTET 2018 will be online and therefore many changes are expected.

A: CTET 2018 Vacancies:

Though no official notification has been released yet, thus there is not any accurate number of vacancies, but the number of vacancies is expected to be same as the previous year.

C: Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2018:

There are two types of eligibility criteria for CTET. One for teachers of class I – V and the other is for class VI – VIII. Below is the criteria for both of the teachers.

 

Qualification: Minimum Eligibility in qualifications for teachers of Classes I to V is as following:-

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Passed Senior Secondary exam (or its equivalent) with minimum 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR

Cleared Senior Secondary exams (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks. A candidate must be either appearing or passed in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

OR

Candidates who are Graduate and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) are also eligible for CTET 2018.

 

For Classes VI – VIII

Applicants who are graduated and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) are eligible.

OR

Graduated with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation in any discipline with 45% or more marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Cleared Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled, can avail relaxation up to 5% in the minimum qualifying marks.

D: HOW TO APPLY for CTET 2018:

Candidates can register themselves online only on the official website https://ctet.nic.in.

E: CTET EXAM FEE:

Rs 600 (For SC/ST/PWD: Rs 300 only) for applicants choosing for paper- I or paper -II only. However, candidates choosing to appear for both the papers shall pay Rs 1000 (Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PH).

F: Selection process and Exam pattern: –

CTET 2018 will be conducted in two phases:

All questions in CTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

 

There will be two papers of CTET.

(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.

(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII. Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

  • There will be no negative marking.

Note: – Paper I is conducted for candidates who aspire to become teacher for Class I to V and Paper II is conducted for candidates who aspire to become teacher for Class VI to VIII. Candidates also have the option to apply for both Paper I and Paper II. Questions asked in both Paper I and Paper II are Objective Multiple Choice Questions. Paper is bilingual, i.e. in both English and Hindi. A candidate is required to score minimum 60% to qualify CTET 2018 Exam. One major thing to note is that the score of CTET is valid for 7 years after the result has been declared for the same by CBSE.

 

G: Qualifying Marks and Award of CTET Certificate

The candidates appearing in CTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate.

School Managements (Government, Local bodies, Government aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to person belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.

Qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

I: CTET 2018 Application Fee

Candidates can apply for CTET 2018 Exam by logging in to the official website of CTET after the notification for the same has been released. A candidate belonging to either General or OBC category is required to pay Rs. 600/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 1000/- (if applying for both the papers). The same amount is reduced to Rs. 300/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 500/- (if applying for both the papers) for candidates belonging to SC/ST category. Application fee can be paid via: e-challan or Credit card/debit card.

 

J: CTET 2018 Admit Card

CTET 2018 admit card will be available in July/ August 2018, 30 days before the actual exam date. The admit cards can be downloaded from the official website. The admit card is mandatory for appearing in the examination and strictly not transferable. Admit Card will be released separately for candidates applying for Paper I, Paper II, Both Paper I and Paper II.

 

K: CTET 2018 Results

The declaration of results will be done by CBSE after the examination of CTET is conducted.

L: CTET 2018 Cut-Off

The candidates appearing in CTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% (General) and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate.
